san francisco, the rice a roni treat

I’m going to be in San Francisco from September 12–17th. Remember way back when when I mentioned a side project? Well, I’m hoping to have Carson’s The Future of Web Apps be the launch, coming out party.

Emily and I had been wanting to go to SF, and this was the perfect opportunity at the right time.

If anyone’s got any restaurant recommendations, especially local Seafood, Mexican or Chinese, I’d love to hear them.

I made sure the return tickets are not refundable specifically to avoid any rash, we ought to uproot and move here now impulses.

  1. You would love love Swan Oyster Bar… straight up fresh seafood, hole in the wall… get the crab salad and a seafood cocktail and a clam chowder and some oysters. You will have to wait, it’s just a counter, but go with that in mind and don’t stress about it. lots of local flavor, the guys behind the counter are old school woodmans style (their shucking of oysters rivals woodman’s cracking of lobster).

I mention it here, though there is a big-time spoiler about the ‘surprise’ business card on my blog:

good luck with the app, and hope you have a better prediction with it than you did the Segway, which contrary to your forecast we are all NOT riding to work today 🙂

Oh, and if you can, go to a ballgame… the garlic fries they serve there (the whole stadium smells like them) are worth having to sit through actual baseball.

YOu should also rent a bike and bike into Sausalito.
